VELUX EHF Champions League i rosa på «International Day of the Girl Child»

11.oktober feirer hele verden den internasjonale dagen for jenter. Plan International, veldedighetspartneren til VELUX EHF Champions League, trekker i den forbindelse verdensomspennende oppmerksomhet på at jenter ofte ikke har de samme sjansene som gutter, og at de ofte blir forhindret i å utøve sine rettigheter. På «International Day of the Girl Child» støtter Plan International jenter i å stå opp for sine mål og rettigheter og oppfordrer dem til å overta ledende roller i politikk og samfunn.
VELUX EHF Champions League og deltakende klubber vil delta i «International Day of the Girl Child» og gi jentene muligheten til å symbolsk åpne kampene i runde 5 og bringe den offisielle matchballen til banen. I tillegg vil senterkretsen være rosa i denne runden.
«Rosa er en sterk farge, som formidler makt, livsstil og motet til å stå opp for seg selv. For jenter er det et signal som viser at de kan leve sine drømmer og nå sine mål.»
Siden i fjor har VELUX EHF Champions League vært forpliktet til barns utviklingsorganisasjon Plan International ved å støtte barn i Brasil og mange andre aktiviteter.
VELUX EHF Champions League goes pink on the International Day of the Girl Child
On 11 October, the whole world is celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child. On that day Plan International, the charity partner of the VELUX EHF Champions League, will draw worldwide attention to the fact that girls often do not have the same chances as boys and that they are often prevented from exercising their rights. On the International Day of the Girl Child, Plan International supports girls in standing up for their aims and rights and encourages them to take over leading roles in politics and society.
The VELUX EHF Champions League and participating clubs will take part in the International Day of the Girl Child and give girls the chance to symbolically open the games of round 5 and bring the official match ball onto the playing court. In addition, the center circle will be pink for this round. Pink is a strong colour, which conveys power, joie de vivre and the courage to stand up for oneself. For girls, it is a signal demonstrating that they can live their dreams and achieve their goals.
Since last season, the VELUX EHF Champions League has been committed to the children‘s development organisation Plan International by supporting a sponsored child in Brazil and many additional activities.
